Treatment of facial injuries in the national trauma centre

Our Clinic and Ambulantory Surgery Center is an integral part of the Trauma Centre at the Sana Klinikum Offenbach, a maximum-care hospital in the middle of the Rhine-Main region. Here, we look after emergencies in oral and maxillofacial surgery around the clock, 365 days a year. Our hospital is approached several times a day by rescue helicopters bringing injured people with damage to the maxillofacial region and associated structures such as those of the skull and skull base. We treat zygomatic and orbital fractures, fractures of the mandible, mid-face and nasal bone, temporomandibular joint injuries, tooth fractures and dislocations as well as extensive soft tissue injuries (gums).

In 2010, the Klinikum Offenbach was certified as a national trauma centre in accordance with the guidelines of the German Society for Trauma Surgery (DGU). Interdisciplinary cooperation between specialists is guaranteed here around the clock. As part of the Trauma Centre at the Sana Klinikum Offenbach, our Clinic and Ambulantory Surgery Center works closely with all colleagues from neighbouring disciplines, such as emergency medicine, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, anaesthetics, intensive care medicine and paediatrics.

The Trauma Centre is equipped to the maximum in terms of personnel, space and technology.

In the Cranio-Facial Trauma Centre, we are particularly specialised in treating bone fractures in a minimally invasive way via invisible incisions (such as the treatment of jawbone fractures through the mouth).
